By using the MovieRat application you agree to these terms.

The service

MovieRat is a movie and TV recommendation app: personalized suggestions, a natural-language concierge, and recommendations exchanged between friends. Availability information is provided on a best-effort basis and may not always be accurate for your region.

Your account

Sign-in is passwordless via email verification codes. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use MovieRat.

MovieRat Plus subscription

• MovieRat Plus is an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
• Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Google Play or App Store account settings.
• Free-tier users see advertisements and have daily limits on recommendations; Plus removes ads and limits.

Acceptable use

Do not abuse the service: no harassment of other users, no attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, no automated scraping. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.

Content

Movie and TV metadata is provided by third parties (TMDB). Your ratings, comments and notes remain yours; you grant us a license to store and display them as part of the service (e.g. to friends you connect with, or publicly if you enable a public profile).

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app.
